It really is just for fun today.

April Fool´s Day is not an official holiday anywhere in the world.

However it is celebrated in many countries.

On April 1st you do something silly or funny and then you say, "April Fools!"

April Fool´s Day is a day to be silly and to pull friendly jokes and pranks.

It´s been around for a long time.

The first mention of pranking on April 1st was in the Canterbury Tales in 1328.

What is the point? (Jaký je smysl?)

The point is  to laugh and have fun. (Smyslem je smát se a bavit se.)

Laughter is the best medicine. (Smích nebo veselí je ten nejlepší lék.)

Laughter is so good for you.

Have fun being silly but be kind and respectful to everyone else.
